I wasn't sure how to answer the following question: How does a first class venue enhance a play session?
What do you all think? The interpersonal chemistry is more important than the venue, but there is no denying the venue does affect the session. A nice room provides a comfort level, a choice of equipment gives the Mistress options of going in different directions, and a good selection of toys can provide the icing.
Would you say that the venue can be the difference between a good and a great session, or?

Very good question and welcome to ASD! I think Chemistry is paramount but that said the venue a Domme plays in (especially if she built and designed it) says volumes about her level of passion for the kinky arts and her commitment to safety, hygiene and aesthetics. The venue then becomes a window to her personality and value system and those are what many people use to determine their chemistry with the Domme.

There is no doubt in my mind that the venue plays a (relatively) minor role. Paramount, for me, is the raw talent of the participants. no wonderful venue, no perfect chemistry can compensate for defective skills. Chemistry comes second, IMHO, and then the venue. To put it another way, Mistress Eiger, one of the world's great Dommes, could provide a great session even without tools other than her mind and yours (phone sessions are an example of that, in a way). Her ability to "connect" (another way to express chemistry) is the way for her to direct this great session to her subs. But a stale Domme, even in the Eiger Insitute, IMHO one of the world's great dungeons, would remain a stale Domme. She might actually do worse than in a more modest setting because of the imbalance between her limited ability and/or persona and the wealth of untapped possiblities.

"The venue then becomes a window to her personality and value system"
Let me give it a try then. Looking at your space I see class, attention to quality and thoroughness. What I might refer to as Teutonic virtues. I expect you might have ancestors from that part of the world?
We've not met, but perhaps you will tell me how accurately (or not) I've characterized you from your space.

I do like the be thorough when I play! I have some very northern European genetics..but still an American mutt for the most part;) There is an Oscar Wilde influence in one of my dungeons and Kubrick in another.
But I lack class... I have a potty mouth and a bit sarcastic;)
